i often link back to the blog post i wrote on january 1st, eleven for ’2011, where i listed my goals for this year. however, i never actually re-read the post when i do the link-back!
on the weekend, i just happened to take a glance-thru, and thought i’d see what i actually wrote down how things are progressing.

very interesting!
just to be a tease, instead of reviewing each one and evaluating the progress [or lack thereof] let’s summarize thusly:
eight of the eleven goals have either been completed or are on track.
three of the eleven goals…would receive a failing grade if the end of the world the end of the year was tomorrow. however. the good news is that at this time, there is no reason why each and every one of the eleven items on the 2011 wish list could not be accomplished by december 31st. [slight modifications may be necessary and would be allowable].
i’m glad i reviewed this blog post! we have nearly 3.5 months remaining in 2011 ie. over 1/4 of the year. that’s lots o’ time!
my vigour is renewed – it’d be wonderbar to put check marks…

…next to each and every goal!
how ya’ doin’ with your own 2011 goals? do you even remember them?! i am most happy with the coupon of the month goal. it is on target for 100% completion! sample, sample, and sample!
bloggers: do you go back and read previous blog posts? me -> never! i don’t re-read my personal journal, either!

oh, goodness! I have a 30 before 30 list that I’ve been avoiding as I’m less than 2 weeks away from my birthday and not done with it. OH WELL! I’ve focused on other goals and have some successes, so I’ll take that.
I do want to re-evaluate some things, though…I just need more hours in the day.
oh, i’m in for a 36 hour day! one of the first blog posts i ever read on your blog was when you mentioned “30 before 30″ – i think it’s great that you have found other goals to go after, instead. nothing wrong with taking a new fork in the road!
Wow..you’re burning through the goals as far as I’m concerned. I didn’t set “year” goals on my blog, but I’d say I’ve done an okay job with the monthly ones I set (and I did have some goals in mind for the year that weren’t blogged about).
I end up doing some rereading as I’m searching around to see what I said about a topic before (or if I’m trying to link to it), but I haven’t really gone back to reread systematically!
thanks, zo! you do such a great job of setting, blogging about and discussing monthly goals – one of my favourite blog posts that you do! and good point – not every goal gets blog attention!
Cathy you have plenty of time to complete your goals!
I do go back and read some posts now and then — just to see what we were doing, that sort of thing. I do like to read old posts of other bloggers, it is kind of neat to see how writing styles/photography/content changes over time.
yes! three months is a long time, despite how time seems to fly! i’ve read thru bloggers archives, too – you really get a sense of who a person is! glad you go back and review yours…all that time and effort we put into blogging should be appreciated!
I do go back and read my journals. I love to see where I was on this date in previous years. Reminds me how much I’ve changed and that all the work I’ve put into my life has been worth it. I also read previous blog posts for the same reason. As for goals, I do one small thing at a time. I believe in the ripple effect.
awesome philosophy, the ripple effect. it’s so true – and you are evidence of the way setting small goals works, johanna! glad you go back and review your journals to see where you’ve been…i am glad i have all my journals because some day i’ll read thru them!
Wow—you’re doing great!
I really should have—actually, I have a new one now. I’m going to set it now so that when 2012 comes, I’ll just have to remind myself (and make myself stick to it!). I am not going to overload my schedule after this semester. Life is too short to be so busy! So I’m only going to teach online classes, and not face to face…financially that makes the most sense (if I had to break it down into dollars-per-hour).
I never made goals
I’ll have to commit to my classes in Dec/Jan…so that’s my goal! I hope I expand and make others in 2012 too.
I never ever read old blog posts……I hardly ever link to them either. It’s too much work
Have a great day Cathy!
lisa, one thing i really admire you for is that you don’t wait for a new year or a new month to switch things up/try something new – you just do it! that is awesome. “life is too short to be so busy” -> so very true! that will be great to teach your online courses only. i know you enjoy them!
