guess what i did: i ordered yet another cereal box tshirt.
i was perusing the shelves of valumart, looking for an on-sale box of my favourite type of carbs, when the honey nut cheerios box caught my eye:
now, i’d rate honey nut cheerios as a solid B-level cereal – they’re not terrible, but i wouldn’t go out of my way to seek them out. however, offer me a free tshirt?? sold! [and, yes, they were even on sale!].
having learned my lesson with the free reebok tshirt offer (which i am still waiting to receive, btw…) i zipped right home and hopped online:
no disrespect meant to adam van koerverden, but i had to access my code!
phew – there were still tshirts available:
at least, i think i’m getting my tshirt…the directions stated that an order confirmation email would be sent to me. i’m still waiting!
apparently, the tshirt will arrive in my mailbox by august 31st. i hope it comes sooner – i would like to wear my tshirt on august 12th when i will be glued to the tv (remember, parents, i have booked your tv) watching our men’s marathoners as they compete in the most exciting of the olympic events!! don’t let me down, honey nut cheerios [you know that if there is some sort of mix-up and my tshirt fails to appear that i will never, ever be buying honey nut cheerios again!].

30 day photography challenge
day #25: something pink
the official pink photo:
little pink squirrel has been attached to my keychain for almost two years, now. this memento dates back to my fabulously fun and awesomely amazing florida vacation in july of 2010 (how can time pass so quickly?!). in fact, i remember the exact day i got little pink squirrel! [it was a freebie from claire's boutique if you don't want to read the post that i linked to, there].
today’s picture says it all: i am fully aware that little pink squirrel has seen better days. the plush is matted and a little grey, the eyes are scratched and dull, and i am sure pinky is infested with germs. so why haven’t i ditched this keychain adornment? because of the girls…
both nieces play with aunti’s keychain practically every time i visit.
cutie c always makes pinky bounce up and down:
little e likes to have pinky wear flipflops:
so, for the time being, i’m not switching things up. plus, my keychain is very easy to locate with all those colourful attachments!
what’s on your key-ring? i’ve kept a plastic, elastic-y coil on mine ever since my teaching days – it’s very handy to be able to put my keychain around my wrist when my hands are full!
honey nut cheerios: thumbs up or down? plain cheerios make a good base layer in a mixed bowl of cereals; i really did not like the chocolate cheerios flavour. have yet to try banana-nut!

Love the pink squirrel! It’s nice to put something sentimental in your challenge! I don’t eat much cereal but usually have honey nut cheerios around for the kids. They are ok. I like quaker oat squares! My key ring is boring–has the dealer acura thingy mabob on it.
thanks, stacie! oh – those quaker oat squares are GOOD, i agree! just like your key ring, my thingy-ding that frames my license plate is boring – from the dealership! i would like something FUN!
My favorite Cheerios are the apple-cinnamon ones. I’ve made my mouth sore on more than one occasion eating them dry by the cupfull. Of course, there are no GF Cheerios so I’m sad. There is an o shaped cereal that is GF but it isn’t at all satisfying.
Hope you get your shirt in time.
i’ve never had apple-cinnamon! i avoid fruit flavours!
keep your eyes open for another GF “O”?? there are more and more GF products on the market, although they are more expensive, esp cereal. my fingers crossed for the tshirt, too!
The pink squirrel is hilarious! I looked back at your “how we met” post and loved all your “shopping expressions”.
I find honey nut cheerios tasty, but not filling. I’d have to eat 2-3 bowls to feel full I think.
Funny, my key ring has a key chain for a czech liqueur called becherovka. Basically, it’s a fancy B….the outer ring of it may or may not be a bottle opener (even though becherovka is a twist open…). I’ve actually picked up some chains on my travels and keep thinking I should switch to one of those.
…or you could put ALL of your keychains from your travels on your key ring and jingle-jangle away!! the fancy B sounds neat! one bowl of just honey nuts would never be enough – i agree!
I’m not a fan of sugared cereals in general. If I eat raisin bran or corn flakes…no sugar or in my case sweetener. I gave it up a long time ago and it wasn’t even a concious choice. I just stopped using it. Hmmm…just thought of that! I am not now nor have I ever been a runner, but I love watching all of the track and field events Especially the marathon! I happened to catch the end of the Olympic trials on Saturday and saw the American from Wash. State set a new record in decathalon. I know that’s not the same but it was exciting. Actually I turned it on because there was supposed to be a Law & Order: SVU on…I was disappointed
NEED my L & O fix daily…drives Ralph crazy!
fran, here is a law and order connection for you: jill hennessy who is in the earlier years of the show is a local girl! a few friends even went to high school with her and her twin sister! kinda cool, eh?! track and field events are SO exciting! i saw that the trials were going on this weekend – glad you watched! i am in awe of anything who can sprint or throw heavy things around… hope you have our sunshine today, too!
