you know it’s going to be a good day when…

…bleary-eyed, you shuffle your way downstairs, recycling bins in hand, as you complete your early-morning ritual of emptying your tins and newspapers into your building’s main receptacles. as you fling open the door to the garbage room, you cast your eyes up at the lending library shelves [yes, the book exchange shelves share space with the refuse area…not sure what this says about the value placed on reading by the residents of this condo…].

suddenly, your eyes pop open and your heart skips a beat. what do we have here?? do the eyes deceive? but, no, thank goodness it is not a mirage!

what a find!

tommy is now comfortably esconced in the condo casa. however, mind you, mr cruise, there is no jumping on couches in this household.

~*~*~*~*~

my goal this past weekend was to go out on that beautifully gorgeously sunny sunday afternoon and shoot artistically pleasing photos for the blog. ok, my camera skills + the point n shoot canon fall a little short. here’s all i got:

the patio is open and ready for business at SOLE!

experimenting with a "down low" angle...the flowers will be blooming before we know it!

an invasion at waterloo park - families, students...shouts of laughter and conversation abounded

1,2,3,4...i'll take one of each, please!

anything that got your day off to a karmically excellent start? hearing a cardinal sing is also a very good sign.

it’s supposed to hit 28 degrees celsius, here. that can only mean one thing:

gtl, you are back in active rotation! ๐Ÿ™‚

Ok..that worked. I had to click on your blog name in one of the comments you left on my blog…rather than using the browser to find you, so I’m still in WordPress. So that’s progress. Just that I usually change the log in info to say Zo rather than strivingcynic, but I can work with this!

      • 1970kikiproject  On March 22, 2012 at 8:39 pm

yes! this situation reminds me of the expression “where there’s a will, there’s a way!” at least progress is being made…thanks for trying again, zo! it’s still weird why the commenting system went haywire like that…

ooooh, glad to see y’all are experiencing some warmer, spring-like weather up there! I love waking up in the morning – it’s my favorite part of the day. not too early though. ๐Ÿ˜‰ and I love it when things karmically work out and set the tone for a great day. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 10:15 pm

oh, you would not believe how excited we canadians have been last week and this week. EVERYONE starts EVERY conversation with some comment about the weather! a non-rushed morning is the best, isn’t it! then you can be set for the day.

  • Zo  On March 21, 2012 at 5:51 pm

Nice to see you were visited by the book fairy! Can’t wait to hear what you learn about Tom!
Isn’t the warm weather nice? Today I’m annoyed because I thought it was going to be warm and sunny again…and it’s..well, more like March!

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 6:25 pm

oh, i am sorry you do not have the summer temps, zo! we are melting up here (just to rub it in, haha!). yes, i should do a “top ten things i learned about tom cruise!” list

  • Stephanie  On March 21, 2012 at 11:34 am

Just yesterday, JP said to me that he wanted Tom Cruise’s biography. A few months ago, he went through a Rob Lowe phase. Don’t ask, because I really don’t know. Ha! Enjoy the beautiful sunshine! Spring has sprung!

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 12:38 pm

well, i DO have your address…shall i ship the biography to jp when i am done? haha! my friend quite enjoyed the rob lowe memoir…maybe i should seek that out after tommy! happy spring (summer?) day to you, too, stephanie!

We seem to be in a rainy period (three days of all day/all night drizzle/showers with two more to come). Surprisingly I am enjoying it. We’ve need moisture so badly. The bad thing will be the grass that will need to be mowed all too soon. For me, the worst part of living in a house is the yard work. My allergies do not like grass.

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 11:27 am

glad you are not minding the rain, johanna – it’s all a part of spring weather, isn’t it. and we DO need rain if we want to see beautiful flowers! hope your allergies subside soon…lawn mowing would be wayyyyy down my list of enjoyable home chores, too!

  • Lisa  On March 21, 2012 at 9:01 am

Ah, it looks similar here! I’m SO loving all the spring noises. My mom and I were saying how great it is to hear “kid noise” in the neighborhood…and we wonder if they just played video games all winter! The neighbor boy already broke his arm riding a dirt bike for the first time this year….so I guess it’s not all sunshine and flower buds…

But at least he was playing outside!

Our cemetery here is like a big wonderful park, so I love to walk there when I really want the peace and quiet part….and go to the park when I want the kid noise! I even saw some boats out on the lake!

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 9:09 am

oh, i love how you have your choice of walking locales, lisa, for either noisier or quieter routes – anywhere green is so centering! here, the skateboarders are back out in full force – i cringe upon seeing some of their moves as “broken bones!!’ just look so possible! and yes, it’s so great to see kids outside, playing. i think the benefits are huge! have a super (hot!) day!

  • The Orchard  On March 21, 2012 at 8:28 am

Those photos are great! BTW, I meant to comment the other day on the blanket that you made. It is beautiful! You did an amazing job. Sure wish that I could knit!

Enjoy the sun and your T-shirt. I will take one (or all) of those dresses and Andie’s, too!

I’m so excited about this weather too. On today’s agenda is continuing the garage-cleaning and doing a bit of work in the garden. Can’t wait to get muddy!

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 6:50 am

ah, you’ve got a good plan lined up, karen! get the garage over with then reward yourself with garden time. it’s going to be absolutely HOT today – enjoy!!

  • Andrea Budding, OCT (@AndreaBudding)  On March 21, 2012 at 6:25 am

One thing that ENDED my day wonderfully was a walk in Waterloo Park — I know you can appreciate this one, Cath. So many littlies/families/students out and about enjoying the weather. Makes me so happy!!

    • 1970kikiproject  On March 21, 2012 at 6:35 am

oh, i am glad you got to make that walk a part of your day, andrea! what a great way to decompress. i so agree – it is so cute just to watch the little ones running around – very entertaining, and great to see them having fun. enjoy today’s expected heat! i’ll be smiling right along with ya!
